1) What is the meaning of the Thin Green Line?
The Thin Green Line is a symbol used by the security profession in the United States. Now prevalent in Canada and other countries around the world to commemorate the fallen and to show support for the living security officers and to symbolize the relationship of private and government security in the community as the protectors of fellow civilians from criminal elements.
Each stripe on the emblem represents certain respective figures: the green center line represents safety and security; the top black stripe represents the community whilst the bottom represents the criminals. The idea behind the graphic is that security (the green line) is what stands between the violence and victimization by criminals of the would-be victims of crime.
Proponents of the symbol assert that the identifier is intended to show support for security. In the wake of controversies over security shootings, the Thin Green Line Flag has become popular among security personnel, their families, and supporters.
